Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the Taichung City Raozixi Environmental Education Center , which opened at the end of last year. As a researcher of museums and environmental education, I am naturally happy to see that the government is willing to invest resources to promote water resources education. The museum is located in the Taichung Fish Market, next to the catchment area of Raozi Creek, with a beautiful environment and exquisite design, suitable for the whole family. However, I have some doubts about the requirement of the museum to take off shoes to enter the museum. Do you have any concerns about taking your shoes off? First of all, this regulation is quite inconvenient for the elders. Due to the limited entrance space of the museum, when people leave the museum, they must squat or bend over to put on their shoes again, which is quite difficult for the elderly.
At the same time, there is an outdoor viewing platform in the museum, overlooking the beautiful scenery of the Raozixi catchment area. However, since you Special Database have to take off your shoes to enter the museum, if you want to think of the outdoor platform, you have to carry your shoes at the entrance of the museum first, and then go to the outdoor platform to put on your shoes; and when you want to leave the outdoor platform, you need to take off your shoes first, and then walk in with your shoes. In the museum, put your shoes at the entrance before you can enter the museum again.
This is even more troublesome for the elders. In the era when our country is about to enter a super-aged society, the social education center should consider the convenience of the elders, but this measure of the museum is obviously not friendly to the silver-haired people. Secondly, taking off your shoes to enter the museum means that people will wear socks or enter the museum with bare feet, which is a hygienic concern. After all, no one can guarantee the foot health and personal hygiene of visitors to the museum. People come and go and step on the same plane. Although it is indoors, it will inevitably increase the health risk of the public. It is better to wear shoes to enter the museum, which is the greatest protection for the people.
